Sleepworks Announces Partnership with Greenville Technical College
June 2007 - Greenville, SC
SleepWorks is pleased to announce that it has affiliated with Greenville Technical College in Greenville, SC and initiated a blended on-line school of sleep technology. This program is designed to provide qualified individuals the necessary education and training to enter the field of sleep technology or provide educational tools for those wanting to enhance their knowledge in the field. On May 1 st , the sleep school was launched with its first class of students.
The course content is delivered primarily through on-line learning modules which allow students the flexibility to access courses at any time and allows them to maintain their personal and work schedules. For the student that has not had any polysomnographic experience, this course includes a week long 40-hour hands on skills lab component which provides the student with important skills to be successful in their clinical experience. The fully equipped skills lab is located at Greenville Technical College and Kimi Clark, SleepWorks' Director of Clinical Operations, is the instructor. In addition to the skills lab, the student is required to complete 80 clinical hours in an accredited sleep lab. After the completion of the first class of students, Greenville Technical College will begin the process of making application to the AASM for accreditation as an A-STEP provider.
